Battle Time:
Wow! SMS had quite a battle last night. As you can see by the pics below, SMS was the victor. Every time a Vixen went for the RL or the Railgun or was just cruising down below, we got'em 90% of the time. It worked out better then I expected.
Here are the scores from last nights battle.
Thanks Peachies for sending me the pics!

Over The Wall is probably the best Jailbreak resource I've found yet. Not only is it updated a lot more often than the Team Reaction Jailbreak page, but it contains a guide to all of the Jailbreak maps released to date, including screenshots and secrets.

Miscellaneous Rumblings:
One of the things I do around here (besides bitch and dissapear for days at a time) is keep on the look-out for clan-tracking websites. You know...websites that host listings of Quake2 clans that SMS should be found within.
Well today I found The Locater, a clan list site that I had never heard of before and figured that SMS should be added to their database. Then I read that they want clans who get listed in their database to post their frigging linkbutton on the clan website's main page.
Bite me. Chomp down hard, you demanding prick because I'm not adding even more overhead to the already-bloated SMS website.
Is anybody else sick and tired of these frigging linkbuttons? Sure, the first "Netscape Now!" button was kind of cool, but it's overdone. (Yes, yes I know....SMS has their own button (in the left frame) but it was an unsolicited creation by a former member and I already took off the "Contest" button to free up some space so shut yer yap.)
We're going to make this God-damned clan so good they'll want to add us for free.

Battle Time:
We plan on re-battling the Vicious Vixens tomarrow (Tuesday) at about the same time we faced them earlier (10pm). However, if the SMS server is still down by that time tomarrow, it'll be a while before we face the Vixens again due to the fact that the captain has some stuff to take care of. In that case however, I will make arrangements with other clans.
- In another note, I re-vamped the SMS Archive section quite a bit this evening. I'll be doing more on that site as the week goes by.

Tempest's Ramblings:
As most of you know, Quake3: Arena will require hardware support...100%. For those of you who don't yet have a voodoo2 board you'll be happy to know that 3DFX made an annoucement today regarding the prices of voodoo2 boards:
(SNIP)
Additionally, customers will see a dramatic reduction in board pricing as a result of significant drops in memory component costs over the last six months. The Voodoo2 SLI configuration is expected to sell for less than $300 (U.S.), while an 8MB, single-board Voodoo2 is expected to sell for less than $100 (U.S.). These new prices will be a key element of 3Dfx's latest marketing campaign known as the "Power of 2," which debuts today. As part of the promotion, Guillemot will offer a pair of 12 MB Voodoo2 cards for a special "Power of 2" pricing of $229 (U.S.).
As you can read, most voodoo2 board prices are within reach of the common wallet now. I'll be trading in my Monster3D for a Voodoo2 board by Christmas time. I crave power! Thanks Blue's for the info.

A-Wal's Quote of the Day:
"Despite my best efforts, I cannot shut my eyes to the awesome sight no mortal was ever meant to see. Armageddon commences in but seconds, and I have a front row seat for the event. I pray my end comes quickly, for the universe is about to become a place I no longer wish to be a part of."

Alliance News:
What happened to our allies, Clan of the Camper? I've sent them some e-mails and ICQ messages in an attempt to arrange another scrimmage, but have received no reply. Their website hasn't changed in a while...any of you CotCers out there, drop me a line and tell me what's up....

Miscellaneous Rumblings:
Well my ISP apparently shit-canned any outgoing e-mail, which could explain why the E-MAEL (#110) I sent out last night never got to anybody. I've resent it; hopefully all SMS members will have received it by now. If you're a SMS Trainee or Member and have not received the latest E-MAEL, contact Rantage.

Roster Changes:
Here's a few items for your viewing pleasure:
- SMS member Purge has been moved to the Reservists list to join SCSI-Terminator. Apparently Purge has been the victim of parental displeasure due to a school grade and will be out of action for about 9 weeks.
- Griffin is the newest Trainee brought into the program.
- We've got a couple more potential Trainees lined up on the horizon, stay tuned.

I've moved the last two weeks' of September News into the Archives.

Contest Update:
- Well, in case you haven't guessed the SMS modelling contest is officially over. We received exactly zero entries, in part (I suspect) due to the fact that getting the word out is quite difficult and the number of skilled modellers is quite small.
- A word about the previous contest, the SMS 2nd Anniversary Contest. I've finally been able to get my hands on the 2nd Quake II Mission Pack (Ground Zero), and am mailing it to the winner now.

Battle Time:
Hey! The battle on the 9th didn't really go mainly because the SMS servers were down. We spent about 45 minutes looking for a GX MOD server...we eventually found one. However when we did find one is was very lagged for one the VV's (Zippy) and myself because we were both using Sprint and at that time Sprint was being a bitch-ass hoe! Anyway, we did play though, just for fun. It was a 3 on 3 because; one of VV's team wasn't there so Pandemic had to sit out. When we did play for fun the final score was SMS-70, VV's-10. We will be resheduling the battle for Sunday most likely at the same time. I'll post the results of that battle then.

A-Wal's Quote of the Day:
Gentle Reminder:
Hey, just a reminder that tonight at 9:15 will be the FFA to decide who will play in the FFA against the Vicious Vixens, Friday October 9th. We are still un-decided if it'll be on 3on3 or 4on4. The top two scoring persons in the FFA will be in the battle for sure on the 9th and the 3rd highest scorer will be a substitute if it is a 4on4! Thanks...

A-Wal's Quote of the Day:
"The light faded slowly that night as the news spread throughout the city. We had heard stories of the great nemesis, and how the world festured in his madness, but we felt ourselves grow a compassion for his cause, and for that, he gave us the redemption we wanted. He sent forth the hand of God! Judgment was upon us!
...
In their dreams they had visions of something Godly and beutiful; as if hell were beutiful, but none were ready for it. Nothing could have prepared them for it. They had forgotten the most important thing, patience. Things don't just end, there is a period upon which they must fall first!"
